Be a Partner Church

A partner church on the most basic level is a church that agrees to enter into relationship with and support Project Transformation. This church makes a commitment to sponsor one or more interns, and in doing so is supporting Project Transformation as a whole.

Each of our interns is matched with a partner church that commits to support that particular intern throughout the summer or during the school year for the after-school program. Most of our partner churches are located in North Texas. If the intern is from the Dallas area, his/her partner church is usually his/her home church.

However, as Project Transformation grows, we have formed relationships with interns and churches from all over the country. In some cases, when an intern comes from out of state, he/she has two partner churches. For example, the intern’s home church might support him financially, while a local church commits volunteers for the reading program and dinner.

A partner church makes a commitment to do three things (If two partner churches share the responsibility of sponsoring an intern, then those terms will be worked out individually):

Support their intern spiritually through prayer and community;
Be a part of the interns summer experience by both providing 12-15 volunteers per day for a week of reading at their intern's site church, providing dinner for all the interns two times during the summer; and allowing them to share with the congregation their experience, and
Support the intern financially by providing a portion of his or her living stipend for the summer, which comes to a $1,500 commitment by the church.

If you are interested in your church being a partner church with Project Transformation for the summer, please review the Letter of Commitment and mail or fax by April 15 to the PT office.
