Be a Site Church
Project Transformation provides a bridge between the site church and the surrounding community beginning with the children. PT's programming is a wonderful opportunity for the churches to reach out into their surrounding neighborhoods. By providing a much needed service to the community, Project Transformation provides a vehicle for families and churches to connect. Project Transformation is currently housed in eight churches and one community center during the summer, and in four churches and one community center during the school year.
Churches will be selected by the following criteria:
- The church's desire to connect with their community. The congregation should be interested in addressing the needs of their neighborhood and welcoming them into their fellowship and together explore their faith. Project Transformation provides the church with opportunities to engage with the community. The congregation is expected to become involved in Project Transformation by volunteering to read and have lunch with the children. In addition, the members of the site church will be able to engage with the parents and families of the children who attend Project Transformation through Family Fun Nights. The pastor or member of the congregation will accompany the interns on home visits.
- The church's ability to support the interns as they explore ministry opportunities.
- The geographic location of the church in relation to other Project Transformation sites.
- The church's ability to pay additional utility and maintenance costs.
- The church's ability to add Project Transformation as an additional insured under your comprehensive general liability policy.
- The church's willingness to participate in a training session to prepare them for the summer.
- The pastor and congregation are expected to have a visible daily presence at the program.
