David began working with Project Transformation in the summer of 2008 while working as an elementary intern at Walnut Hill UMC. Because of the life-altering experiences and relationships formed that summer, David returned in 2009 to serve as the site coordinator of the Walnut Hill UMC site.
Due to the financial blessing of a summer grant from the ExxonMobil Community Summer Jobs Program, David has returned to his PT family for a third summer. This time, he is serving as the Reading Program Coordinator and is assisting each of the sites as their reading programs grow and become more effective tools of literary success. He will also be working to further develop PT’s Leadership in Training Experience (L.I.T.E.) programming which targets high school aged volunteers who are often former program participants.
David’s home is in Bossier City, Louisiana, but he spends most of his time in Waco, Texas as a senior at Baylor University. He has a premedical specialization and is pursuing a B.A. in Medical Humanities. He plans to become a pediatrician working with children in need of critical care.
