Instructions for Reading Volunteers
Monday-Thursday, 9:30-12:00
The literacy component of Project Transformation is an exciting opportunity for volunteers to interact with our children in a one-to-one setting. Reading volunteers listen to each children read for 30 minutes. After reading, the pair engages in discussion and comprehension activities about the story.
The reading component takes place at each summer program site location, Monday-Thursday from 9:30-12:00.
It is easiest for scheduling purposes if your organization, congregation, or group can commit to providing volunteers for an entire week, Monday-Thursday.
To ensure one-on-one reading, it is important to have 12-15 volunteers per day.
